The globe theatre was constructed in 1599. it was made for entertainment for the people of London. They showed over thirty different playes including Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Juilius Caesar. The building consisted of an Upper stage, The Tiring stage, the Main stage, and also the Heavens. There was no roof, because they used the sun for light. The theatre held over 1,500 people. The rich sat at the top, while the poor sat at the bottom. What made this theatre different from the others was a trap door that actors could disappear in the middle of the play.

The only disaster that occured to the globe was the plague, they also had to rebuild the theatre because it was burned down. The people who built the theatre had to build it across the river, because acting was banned from London. Another thing you might find odd is that only men were aloud to act. I bet the scene of Romeo and Jueliet got pretty intense. More about the Globe there were different flags for what kind of play it was, black meant tragedy, white meant comedy, and red for history. It was also the biggest building made at the time for acting.

The peasants paid a penny for the show and stood in the open yard which was on the groun in front of the stage. The higher class people paid 2 cents and set at the Galleries. The noble men sat up top and sat for free. The inner stage was a stage used for mostly indoors. The main stage is where all the action is. There was also a Tiring stage Which was for the actors to dress in.

Thank you, please drive through.

The Globe would have particularly attracted young people and the were many complaints of apprentices avoiding work in order to go to the Globe theatre in London. A trumpet was sounded to announce to people that the play was about to begin at the Globe Theatre London in order for people to take their final places.
